The Sports Council, Deendayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur carries the glorious
history same as this eastern region has. The University Sports Council has established its unique
identity on the national stage with its limited resources. With the efforts of the Sports Council,
determined to further enrich the history of the ongoing saga of Pride. The youth of our
University are achieving new national and international records. Sports not only develop our
body but instill in us many human values like discipline, forgiveness, obedience, team-spirit and
self-respect etc. With this motto, athletic association was established in this University in the
session 1957-58.
Prof. Himanshu Chaturvedi is the President, Prof. Sudhir Kumar Srivastava and Prof. Vinod
Kumar Singh is the Vice Presidents. Prof. Vijay Chahal is the Secretary and Dr. Rajveer Singh
Rathore is the Joint Secretary. Prof. Uma Srivastava is the treasurer of the Athletic Association.
